The Power of Persuasion

 

I’m a sucker for a good print ad.  You can convince me to try something, buy something, taste something based on how good the ad looks. Case in point: the Chanel print ad for their Perfection Lumiere Makeup.  This is not a new ad. In fact I think I may have ripped this ad out at least 5 times during the late summer and fall when it first appeared in all the women’s magazines all with the intention of writing a post about it.  As I was cleaning my apartment today I came across 3 of these tears so I felt it necessary to post.  The beautiful profile shot with the minimal copy all works perfectly to get Chanel’s point across–”Buy this product and you too will look like this!”

I’ve worked in the celebrity/fashion photography industry so as beautiful as this model is, I know she has been retouched but quite frankly I don’t care.  This ad makes me want her skin.  This ad makes me want to get my eyebrows done.  This ad makes me want to buy this makeup.  It’s beautiful.  It’s a good ad.  That’s all.
