An Obvious Distinction

The Elsa Peretti Bone Cuff

As you may have gathered from my Ring-spiration posts, I’m a sucker for jewelry, especially any piece that is “chunky” and stands out as a statement piece. For me, the right jewelry can really make or break an outfit. As a typical New Yorker who’s closet color palette consists of lots of Black, White and Grey ensembles, I rely heavily on great jewelry to really make my outfits stand out (that and belts, but that’s a subject I’ll touch on in a future post). I’ll continue to share some of my new and favorite ring acquisitions, but I thought I’d switch jewelry gears today and share the recent addition to my jewelry box: The Esla Peretti Bone Cuff from Tiffany & Co.

This cuff is sleek and modern with subtle yet precise curves that allow it to rest beautifully on any wrist.  The raised detailing on the portion that sits on your wrist bone really makes this cuff stand out from all others.  It is this bone detailing that not only makes this cuff unique but also extremely sensuos (I rarely, if ever, have called a piece of jewelry sensuous).  To create a piece that molds beautifully to the shape of your body shows such craftmanship and appreciation for the human form.  For me, this cuff is truly one of Elsa Peretti’s and Tiffany’s most iconic pieces.

The DH surprised me with this beautiful cuff for our 5 Year wedding anniversary.  As much as I told him not to get me anything, I must admit that finding a beautiful Tiffany blue box with this majestic piece of jewelry inside made me VERY happy.  This cuff is definitely going to be my go-to piece this fall and winter.

J’Adore These Rings

Today’s Ring-spiration takes me back to a wonderful trip the hubster and I took to Paris in late 2007.  We were only there for 3 days, but of course I managed to find the most amazing jewelry shop and was able to purchase these two lovely rings.

Parisian Cocktail Rings

This store, Aventurine, has 3 locations within Paris.  We went to the one in the Marais district.  I actually stumbled upon this jewelry store on our first night in Paris as we were walking along the streets sightseeing.  When I saw these rings in the storefront window I fell in love, but I didn’t want to commit to the purchase since we had only been in a Paris for a few hours and still had much to see.  But on the last day I just couldn’t get my mind off them.  My husband and I forgot the name of the store but “vaguely” remembered what the street looked like and other points of reference.  So about 2 hours before we were set to depart back to Geneva, Switzerland (we were actually staying there with an Aunt), we ran around the streets of the Marais district like two crazies.  When we were just about to give up my darling husband found it!  Now trust me–I was really only going to purchase one ring (the black one), but we didn’t know when we would be back in Paris so I splurged and bought two…oh yea, and earrings to go with the red ring.

I wear the black cocktail ring all the time.  Because of it’s size, it’s just such a great statement accessory piece.  I would say this is really my “go-to” ring.  I wish I had also purchased this awesome, funky yellow one for the spring/summer months, but alas I settled on the red one instead.  Perhaps another trip to Paris is in my future?!

Ring-spiration

I love jewelry. Detailing yourself with amazing jewelry really can really add glamour and sophistication to any outfit.  While I love all jewelry, I have an obsession with rings.  The bigger, the more unique, the better.   A beautiful ring on a manicured hand speaks volumes.  While my favorite rings of all time are my wedding and engagement rings, I have amassed a pretty good collection of other funky finds.  I’m always complimented on the different styles of rings I wear, so I want to start sharing some of my favorites with you through my posts.  Some I own, and some I hope to own, but I hope that some of them can give you some ringspiration.

H.Stern Ring from the Grupo Corpo collection

This beautiful 18k Yellow and Noble gold ring (Ref. A2OE30) is from H.Stern’s Grupo Corpo collection.  This collection’s jewelry is interpreted and inspired by the choreography and costumes of the Brazilian dance troupe, Grupo Corpo.  I just love the way the two different types of gold are intertwined in this ring as if they really are performing a dance.  Every piece from this collection is truly remarkable.  This ring is a true statement piece.
